MCD Elektronik presents the SmartModuleS 84TE at productronica

With the MCD SmartModuleS, MCD Elektronik GmbH brings a new level of flexibility to electronics testing. The compact, modular system combines powerful hardware with user-friendly software, ideal for both laboratory environments and series production. Electronics manufacturers face smaller batch sizes, shorter product life cycles, increasing product diversity, and high cost pressure. Traditional test racks are often too large, expensive, or inflexible. The SmartModuleS is compact, modular, scalable, quickly adaptable to new tasks, and minimizes investment risks.

The SmartModuleS is available in various models, including SmartModuleS 42TE and the new 84TE, allowing flexible use depending on requirements.

Flexibility through modular architecture
The basis is a compact 19" unit with industrial PC, optional touchscreen, and power supply. Modules can be inserted via standardized slots—from power supplies and digital I/O to specialized units such as PicoScope^®, audio analyzers, or haptic testers. Module replacement is detected automatically, the system configures itself, and test tasks are ready immediately. The MCD TestSuite connects development, laboratory, and series production, and existing devices can be integrated.

Practical example: An automotive supplier previously programmed serial numbers and calibration values manually—error-prone and time-consuming. SmartModuleS automated the process with secure data transfer, automatic documentation, and visual user guidance. Result: fewer errors, time savings, and full traceability.

New: SmartModuleS 84TE live at the trade fair
The 84TE version offers compact design, optimized interfaces, and dual slots. It can be used in laboratories, for validation, small series testing, or production lines. Mobile testing tasks are possible via optional battery power.
