Stepan GmbH was founded in 1968 in Vienna/Austria. Already at that time, the company specialized in the trade with machines and materials with a focus on the transformer and electric motor construction. The sales area included not only Austria but also the neighboring Eastern European countries.

After some time the company started to focus on a new business field: the production of printed circuit boards. Later, two additional business units were added with electronics and label printing. Since 2017, the area of intralogistics 4.0 and automation has expanded the portfolio of Stepan GmbH.

For many years, Klaus Stepan, Stefan Kessler, and Andreas Höfner have managed the highly successful family business, which has one subsidiary each in Germany and Serbia, as well as sales offices in Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
